As we approach the end of the year, we would like to announce that we are running a campaign to show gratitude and appreciation to healthcare workers who have been on the frontline in the fight against COVID-19. You have been the true heroes during the pandemic as you have risked your health and safety to save the lives of patients with COVID-19.
As part of the campaign, we are running a contest - The ‘Medic Appreciation Contest’ - to encourage communication, collaboration and knowledge sharing among healthcare professionals. The contest will also provide an opportunity for healthcare practitioners to connect with peers on the Medixus platform as well as provide clinical decision making support on challenging cases to stand a chance of winning one of many prize packages. Below are the details of the contest:
Contest starts: 12th October 2020
Contest ends: 9th November 2020
Who is eligible? All medical professionals of all cadres. The contest will be run exclusively on the Medixus platform so if you are not registered yet, you can sign-up here.
Rules of the contest: It’s simple. Whoever has the highest number of cases posted and commented on by other users on the platform by close of business on 9th November 2020 will stand a chance of winning the overall prize package. Four runners up will be selected making a total of five winners who will receive prizes.
A draw will also be done weekly where one winner will be selected to receive prizes, with the announcements made every Monday of the contest month.
What are the prize packages? The prizes are a combination of two or more items from Medixus and partners. They have been carefully selected to ensure that the overall winner benefits by enhancing his/her skillset and consequently professional qualification. Which short course is up for grabs? We have pre-selected several short courses from AMREF International University which the overall winner can choose from, depending on the cadre. Below are the details:

Are the short courses fully sponsored? Yes and No. The pre-selected courses for other cadres will be fully sponsored while the courses for doctors will be funded up to a maximum of 50% of the tuition fee.
How do I keep track of standings? The leaderboard will be updated daily and published in-app every week of the contest month.
When will the winners be announced? Weekly winners will be notified and announced every Monday while the overall winners on the 11th of November 2020. Healthcare workers play a key role in the fight against COVID-19. As private sector organizations, it is important to show gratitude and appreciation for the hard work they are doing.
